Wolford Ready-to-Wear Spring-summer 2009

The signature design for the SS 2009 season is reflected in gently draping fabrics that follow the shape of the body in a very elegant way. Wolford’s new interpretation of the 1970s and early 1980s is pure, chic and sexy. The design focuses on the sophisticated, independent woman who exudes elegance and sensuousness – like Lauren Hutton in the legendary movie “American Gigolo”.

A sporting interpretation of the safari look, reminiscent of American sportswear of the 1970s, creates a new and interesting highlight.

The Ready-to-wear collection reveals clearly contoured curves by using high-quality silks, cotton blends and finest wool, for both confection fashion and knitwear. The fabrics used are draped gently and some of them surprise with elegant pleats, as is the case with the opaque-transparent string bodies and skirt in the MADELEINE range, or – for a more close-fitting interpretation – the NAOMI dress. The colour range of the entire collection begins with white/creame/sand and moves on to light olive/brown and soft pastels. A touch of lurex and semi-transparent elements refine the look.
